We started off Science week with a zoom call in which 'Mark the Science Guy' set his hand on fire and showed us some cool experiments. Later that day, we used effervescent tablets and water to create rockets. We also put heat on two balloons, one with water and one without water, learning that the water-filled balloon protected the balloon from bursting.
In keeping with our Winter theme, we learnt about temperature. Using a thermometer to test water temperature, we realised that tin foil was a much better insulator than tissue as it kept the water hotter for longer. In addition, we created a lava lamp due to the chemical reaction of baking soda and vinegar. In our final experiment, we learnt about sound and created our own telephones using string and paper cups. What an exciting and fun-filled week!
