We are all so proud of our 6th class pupils who won the VEX Robotics Teamwork Award in ATU Galway on Friday 13th January. They have worked tirelessly for months, creating their robot, honing their driving skills and deciding on manoeuvres to knock all the discs in each tower in the 'Slapshot Arena' to get as many points as possible. They also worked on coding the robot in order for it to move around the arena without using the controller.
Every pupil played a game in the qualifying rounds, progressing to the final which was played in front of a full and noisy lecture hall! After a tense wait, our name was announced and celebrations ensued.
We now will compete in the All Ireland finals against schools from around the country which will take place in Cork on 22nd February.
